Privacy Policy
Faberno ("we", "us") is the data controller for the personal information described below. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, who else sees it, and how to exercise your rights over it. If anything here changes, this section is updated in place and the date at the top of the page moves.
What we collect
Through the contact form: your name, email address, business or trade (optional), and whatever you write in the message field. We do not currently run analytics, so we don't collect browsing behaviour, device fingerprints, or usage statistics.
Why we process it
To respond to your enquiry and, where a project goes ahead, to deliver it - processing that's necessary to take the steps you've asked for before entering into an agreement, or to perform one already in place. Where that doesn't apply, our basis is legitimate interest in running correspondence for a small business, which we consider is not outweighed by any impact on you given the limited data involved.
Who else processes it
Two processors are involved in running this site:
- Web3Forms delivers contact-form submissions to our inbox. They handle the message only long enough to route it to us and are not used for marketing or list-building.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces used across the site. Loading them makes a request from your browser to Google's servers on each visit, which may be processed outside the UK or EEA depending on Google's infrastructure at the time.
We've chosen both because they're widely used, established services with their own published privacy terms - we don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone beyond what's needed to run the site and answer you.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept only as long as they're relevant to responding to you or delivering a project you've asked us to build, then deleted. If a project goes ahead, information relevant to that engagement is retained for the ordinary lifetime of a business record, in line with our bookkeeping obligations.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to: tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or receive a copy in a portable format. Email us and we'll act within a reasonable time.
Keeping it secure
The site is served over HTTPS, so information submitted through the form is encrypted in transit. Beyond that, we limit what we collect in the first place, on the basis that data we never hold can't be part of a future breach.
Questions
Email [email protected] - a real person reads it, usually within a working day.
Accessibility Statement
We build for everyone who needs to use what we make. This site follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA: semantic, standards-based markup, full keyboard navigation, clearly visible focus states, considered colour contrast, and support for reduced-motion preferences, so the site's animation steps aside automatically for anyone whose device asks for it. We hold the same standard in the work we build for our clients.
If you ever have difficulty using this site with assistive technology, email [email protected] and we will resolve it as a priority.
Terms of Service
These terms cover how this website may be used and how engagements with Faberno are generally structured. The specific price, scope, and timeline for a given project or plan are always confirmed separately in writing before work begins, and that written quote or agreement takes precedence over this page wherever the two differ.
How engagements are structured
Two broad shapes cover most work we do:
- Fixed-price projects - a website, system, or feature build scoped and quoted as a one-off, invoiced against agreed milestones or on completion, ending in a defined handover.
- Ongoing plans - hosting, maintenance, feature work, or security monitoring provided on a recurring basis for as long as the plan stays active, billed accordingly.
Which shape applies, and the specifics of either, are set out in the quote or plan description you agree to before work starts.
Quotes and payment
Following a scoping call, you receive a written quote covering price, scope, and timeline for a fixed-price project, or the recurring fee and what's included for an ongoing plan. Payment terms - deposits, milestones, or billing cycle - are confirmed in that same document before any billable work begins.
Intellectual property and handover
For fixed-price projects, code and assets built specifically for you are assigned to you on final payment, and key access - domain, hosting, source repository, and admin logins - is handed over at launch, unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing. Where an ongoing plan is in place, services tied to that plan (such as hosting or monitoring) continue only while the plan is active, as described in the plan itself; this doesn't affect ownership of the underlying code and assets already handed over.
Confidentiality
We treat project details, business information, and anything shared with us in confidence as confidential, and expect the same of any information we share with you in the course of a project.
Warranties and liability
We aim to deliver work matching the scope agreed in writing, and will correct genuine defects reported within a reasonable period after launch at no extra charge. Beyond that, our liability in connection with an engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement, to the extent permitted by law.
Termination
Ongoing plans may be ended by either party with reasonable notice, as set out in the plan itself. Fixed-price projects are governed by the cancellation terms stated in the relevant quote.
Governing law
These terms, and any agreement built on them, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time; the date at the top reflects the latest revision. Changes don't apply retroactively to a quote or plan you've already agreed to.
