The problem

Writing up an inventory meant a clerk going back through every photograph and every voice note from the visit and typing the findings out by hand. It was the slowest part of the job, it all happened after the visit rather than during it, and a single report could take twenty hours.

What we built

  • A tool that reads the photographs taken on site and drafts the inventory report from them
  • The audio recorded during the visit handled the same way, so nothing has to be listened back to and transcribed
  • Built into the workflow the team already ran rather than beside it, so there is no second system to keep in step

The result

A report that used to take twenty hours is complete in twenty minutes, built from what the clerk already captures on the visit.
